Gwynne Drake - Senior Advisor

Born and raised into caring, I spent my childhood growing up in my mother and grandmothers Adult Family Home on Whidbey Island. I was born into a family of big hearts and knew from the age of 13 that I too was going to follow in their footsteps and build my career working to help my elders. Over the past 12 years, I have worked in every avenue of senior living trying to find my calling. I started my career working as a caregiver in adult family homes. I enjoyed my work as a caregiver but wanted to do more. I worked my way to being responsible for managing that adult family home and the day to day happenings of it. Soon after that, I was promoted to the adult family home administrator for 4 adult family homes. I worked in this setting for 5 years before I decided that I wanted to continue helping people in other avenues.

As someone who has lost both sets of her grandparents at young ages, I couldn’t wait to adopt every single one of my residents as grandparents. I was so excited to get to help residents through their transition from home to a retirement community. To integrate them into a new setting and watch them blossom into enjoying life once again.

Working in all settings of senior living gives me an advantage in helping my clients. I am their expert and can provide full and honest advice to whatever option they are considering for themselves or family member. That to me is priceless. That is why I couldn’t wait to become a family adviser. To guide them through the often-difficult task of accepting that home is not the right answer for them. To help families navigate through all the options in senior living, to find the very best for their loved one. To be their support when they are faced with the unknown. To make sure their forever home is what they are looking for.  Working as a community relations director families often referred to me as their counselor, their rock, their glue. Let me be the glue that holds your family together through your transitions and guides you through the senior industry to find the perfect fit for your loved one.
