CERTIFIED SENIOR ADVISOR - PIERCE COUNTY
Growing up with only one grandparent, my Grandpa Jim whom I loved dearly, my desire to form relationships with seniors started at a young age and grew as I got older. My very first job at age 15 was in an assisted living community as a dietary aid. I loved hearing all of the residents’ stories, learning about their pasts and forming connections I never had before. I appreciated every moment I got to spend with my Grandpa Jim, too. His laugh was contagious and his spirit for life has taught me many things. One of those things is to be helpful anytime you can, to anyone you can. My job with Senior Housing Specialists has given me this opportunity; to be as helpful as I can in this challenging time in you and your loved one’s life.
I graduated with both my Bachelors of Science (2011) and Masters of Arts (2013) in Communication Studies from Oregon State University, where I was able to learn about Health Care Communication. I taught Communication Studies and Columbia Basin College in Tri-Cities, Washington for four years, before my desire for change and adventure led me to NW Washington. I couldn’t be happier with my decision! I love the area and am so grateful for the wonderful opportunities that have presented themselves to me here.
I understand that this can be a difficult and challenging time in you and your family’s lives. Again, I want to help. I will ensure that you understand all care options and will communicate all of your needs clearly to all parties involved. I will work closely with you to make sure you and your loved one love their new home.
When I’m not helping seniors and their families, I love to be at Crystal Mountain snowboarding with my friends, being on the water, relaxing with a good book and snuggling my favorite fluffy cat, Owen.
