Early in life, I developed a love for being around older adults. My 1st report I did in elementary school was on my elderly neighbor who I called Grandma Betty and what her life was like growing up in the 1920's. I also was very fortunate to grow up with both sets of Great Grandparents into my late teens and had close relationships with both sets of my Grandparents well into adulthood that I cherish! It also drives what I do today, and that is to treat everyone we help as we would our own family.
In the early 2000's I became a Real Estate agent after my 2 children entered school. The market during that time was fast and furious! I gain my Certification in working with Seniors and knew that was the population I wanted to cater to. In 2007 we began to see the rapid decline of the market and I decided it was time to search for a new endeavor, that included my love of helping seniors. The end of 2007 I started my career in the world of Long-Term Care as a Sales Manager for a local senior living company. I quickly excelled in my work and was promoted to a Regional Director of Sales & Marketing at a company who at that time was the largest senior provider in the nation! I had oversight of up to 15 different Assisted Living & Memory Care communities and worked 6 to 7 days a week to ensure we lived up to our commitment to our residents and staff.
Late in 2013, I was diagnosed with uterine cancer and my life took another unexpected turn. I was very fortunate and was blessed with a successful outcome! But having cancer has a way of changing you. I left my corporate position in August of 2014 and embarked on a new adventure helping real people and families instead of corporations. I found great joy again in helping seniors figure out the right care options and solutions to their needs. Having knowledge about which care options would be best and how long-term care works has proved to be very valuable information to many in need!
It takes a special understanding and knowledge when you are aging and going through major life changes. Seniors deserve to have a professional who has experience in the complexity of their unique situation guide them through the process. As a Certified Senior Advisor, and Real Estate Broker, I have that knowledge and experience to share. I also have great empathy for the stress you are under to make the right choice. There is no bigger decision than that of where you will live and who will care for you or your loved one.
When not helping seniors, my husband Todd and I love to spend time with our family including our beautiful, spunky granddaughter Opal and we are looking forward to the arrival of our 2nd granddaughter! We also enjoy traveling to Maui and new destinations, camping, playing cards & games, dinner out with friends and quiet time at home with our 2 Shih Tzu's; Tinkerbell & Gooch!
